The Fight to Turn Back Time

The Fight to Turn Back Time
In my painting class that I took this semester, for my final project I was given the freedom to paint anything. I was looking back at my old art work for inspiration and came across this drawing that I did for my drawing class in my Freshman year. I decided to make this into a painting because it is very colorful and very much my style which I thought would be cool. I decided to use oil paints because for my second project I used oil paints for the first time. I really enjoyed using them because they gave me the vibrant colors that I wanted. Previously, I had only painted with acrylics. I found working with oil paints to be challenging, but I liked learning how to use them. I also experimented with molding paste and put it on the windows to make them pop out from the painting.

This is a surreal piece that have little elements that relate to me. I chose this composition because it lets the viewer become a part of the piece by looking out of the open windows.
